With 44 years of experience advising clients on financial matters, William is president of William Howard & Co. As an expert, author, and leader, William brings financial skills and seasoned knowledge to his clients and his community.

He has published articles in Medical Economics, American Medical News, Physician’s Management, and the Journal of Financial Planning and is also a financial columnist for Medical Society Quarterly, a publication of the Memphis Medical Society.

William has been frequently quoted in the press publications such as The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Business Week, Medical Economics, and Investor’s Business Daily. Local news networks have interviewed him on financial-related topics, and he was a regular guest panelist for a local cable television investment series. His firm’s success story has been featured in local and national media.

William received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Mississippi, continuing on to receive the Chartered Financial Consultant® and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional designations. His extensive involvement within the financial community includes serving as a founding board member, former president, and chairperson of the Financial Planning Association of Greater Memphis. In addition, William has contributed his expertise as a member of the editorial review board for the Journal of Financial Planning and is a past member of the adjunct faculty of the College for Financial Planning. He is also an esteemed member of the Memphis Planned Giving Council and the Financial Planning Association.

William’s outstanding contributions led to him being recognized as the Memphis Executive of the Year in 2009 by the International Association of Administrative Professionals. Further accolades followed as he was repeatedly honored as one of the top 150 financial advisors in the United States for doctors by Medical Economics in past years. Additionally, William's expertise garnered recognition from the Dental Practice Report, where he was acknowledged as one of the best financial advisors for dentists. His dedication to excellence resulted in 16 consecutive years of receiving the Memphis Five Star Wealth Manager award, spanning from 2008 to 2023.

He enjoys spending time with his children, exercising, listening to music, and playing guitar.
